On November 1, the traditional police action “Winter” started all over the country. It will continue until November 30, with its main goal being to limit road traffic injuries in the autumn-winter season.
Usually the action takes place in three stages. In the first – November 1 to 10, cyclists and carts will be tracked. During the second stage, from 11 to 20 November, pedestrian safety will be a focus.
At the end of November, the focus will be on vehicle readiness for winter traffic. On 20 November, the World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Crash will be celebrated.
There are mass control checks around the country. In the first place, the Traffic Police will check the condition of the wipers, tires, lights.
“In addition to the tread depth or whether they are suitable for winter conditions, they must be healthy because one of the most common types of disturbances is worn or torn tires. These are reasons for stopping the car, “said Maria Boteva, an inspector at Traffic Police.
